Day 46

What makes an expert an expert? I never really thought about it until today when I heard a guest on 3Talk – a South African talk show – say that to be an expert at something you have to do it for 10 000 hours – I believe she was quoting from a book the name of which escapes me this very second if I am this forgetful at nineteen I shudder to think of what I’ll be like at forty – no offense to all the forty-year-old people out there LOL 🙂

It’s 6:10 on day 46 on my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth –  I don’t think I’ll ever get over being able to brush my own teeth which is so funny because brushing one’s teeth is something most people take for granted but for me it’s like climbing Mount Everest 🙂 –  feed myself Oats for breakfast,  learn Inverse Trigonometric Functions – I now know what Arcsine, Arctangent and Arccosine are although I fail to see how knowledge of this will serve me in everyday life – feed myself rice and curry for lunch and typed mad, sad,  bad, dad, add and mat with my right-hand – it took me 30 minutes and all the concentration I possessed but I did it in the end 🙂

Today I realized that the most successful people in the world are not necessarily the smartest or the most talented of the bunch but the one thing that they all seem to have in common is the willingness to work day and night to make their dreams come true. Do you have what it takes to be successful? 🙂
